What Al Gore Doesn't Know About Global Warming Can Destroy Us

Kabtoday_boy_small "We are facing a true planetary emergency. It is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity," former Vice President Al Gore dramatically stated when he accepted his Noble Peace Prize.

But once the curtain came down on the glimmering award ceremony, a question arose: Will our increasing environmental awareness save us from the ecological crisis?

To take control over the ecological crisis, we must first understand its underlying causes by examining Nature and its systems.

Researchers of natural systems in physics, biology, chemistry and other sciences have learned that all of Nature's components exist in constant balance. These elements are so interconnected and interdependent that harming even the smallest detail can throw the entire system off balance.

Richard Branson and Al Gore launch $25M climate competition

BransongoreThis is very cool - there are lots of good things we can do with $25M - especially accelerating getting the new newspaper out from Israel to the entire world ASAP:

Millions of pounds are on offer for the person who comes up with the best way of removing significant amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson launched the competition today in London alongside former US vice-president Al Gore.

A panel of judges will oversee the prize, including James Lovelock and Nasa scientist James Hansen.

Sir Richard said humankind must realise the scale of the crisis it faced.

This is a great initiative - I hope Branson, Gore and the other judges realize soon that we've all been sitting on the answer for thousands of years and it was only supposed to be revealed now in our time.

Time To Get Serious About Saving The World

Al_gore_1I caught a bit of Letterman last night and wasn't too amused with his making fun of the very serious problems society is facing - I know that's what he does for a living but at this critical point it's not that funny - obviously he doesn't know how critical a stage we're at (Earth's Climate Warming Abruptly) - and when I say 'he' - I mean Letterman who pretty much represents what's going through Americans' minds.  Al Gore was his guest and they were talking about the situation in Iraq - how it was a mistake to go in there - that he was against it and that they have to get out without leaving a big mess behind etc.

According to Michael Laitman the powers that be are keeping that external war going because they know things are getting really bad - they have no solution at hand - and these high-level power brokers know that the best way to keep everyone together is by uniting against an external enemy. There's nothing new under the sun.

Bottom line: Everyone knows what the issues are but no one knows how to go about solving them in the most efficient manner. Even some of the most important people in the world, including Al Gore, are groping in the dark for answers. They really are just guessing. With all due respect no one knows anything for sure.

I completely admire Al Gore for what he is doing - he is conveying a very important message to humanity that has accumulated inside him for the past 30 years (that was interesting to learn on Letterman) - but I doubt that his wife takes all the plugs that they're not using out of the wall each time she leaves the house (!!) .... like it says to do on his site in the take action section.

All that stuff may make micro changes but if you really want the ultimate solution in can only be found in the science of Kabbalah - which fills the gap between what we know and everything we don't.

It's all here in Laitman's new book - Kabbalah, Science & The Meaning of Life - this is a link to the free e-book version - the book is based on Laitman's encounter with the scientists from What The Bleep last year in San Francisco.

I mean seriously people - who do you really think has the upper hand? Not Washington that's for sure - they are just as vulnerable as the rest of the world at the moment.

Al Gore Takes Cannes by Storm

Al_gore Al Gore is warming the hearts of people everywhere and has apparently taken Cannes by storm. Good for you Al Gore! Everyone is talking about him getting reelected now but like I commented on the Huffington Post he can get a lot more done outside the oval office since it's obvious that our political leaders have no power nowadays to change anything.

My comments on the movie can be seen in my regular UPI column and American Chronicle.

Of course global warming is only one aspect of a worldwide crisis that shows no signs of slowing down:

In the words of foremost kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman:

Humanity is currently facing a crisis affecting all walks of life: disintegration of families, depression, increased suicides, international terrorism, proliferation of drugs to increasingly younger people, ongoing ecological disasters, lack of financial stability, endless clashes between cultures, a growing gap between the rich and poor, and more.

This crisis is a direct result of man breaching the delicate balance of nature. Animals, plants and the various elements of nature operate in perfect harmony. The comprehensive law of nature ensures preservation of this balance. But man, in deference to the other elements of nature, must build and maintain this balance on his own.

This imbalance between man and nature has arisen from human egoistic behavior which is opposite to the harmonious relationship that exists in nature. We are in an endless war between each other to achieve our own personal egoistic interests. The relations between us and those around us have become intolerable. We are attempting to “milk” as much as we can from our fellow man. In this fashion we are creating an endless amount of conflicts among ourselves, our family members, neighbors, fellow workers, environment, other countries and cultures.

Former Vice President Al Gore in Hollywood For Premiere of 'An Inconvenient Truth'

Al_gore_tipperStole this picture off the UPI homepage (hope they don't mind!)

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and his wife Tipper arrive at the Los Angeles premiere of the documentary film "An Inconvenient Truth" in Los Angeles, California on May 16, 2006. The film by director Davis Guggenheim offers a look at Gore's fervent crusade to halt global warming's deadly progress by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it. The film opens in select theaters in the U.S. May 24. (UPI Photo/Jim Ruymen)

Here is my article about this coming out next Monday in UPI's Religion & Spirituality Forum in my regular column:

Who would have ever guessed a few years back that Al Gore would play a key role in saving the planet?

Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth by Paramount Classics is being released next week and since it deals with extremely critical issues that concern us directly, it will probably reach mega blockbuster status very quickly.

People usually don’t like to hear about their gory future, but in Al Gore’s case, we’re making an exception and letting him convey this important message to us. Maybe we simply weren’t ready to hear it earlier. Maybe we’re ready now.

Since our human nature compels us to constantly strive for a higher degree of evolvement, anything shedding light on our tomorrow is of top priority to us. Because if there is no tomorrow, then there is nothing worth living for at all.

Scientists on Global Warming

Lab So apparently all the scientists can exhale a big sigh of relief now that the numbers prove in their latest study what they have always believed - the earth is supposed to be heating up at this rate - meaning us humans are off the hook. Just go back to your data and figures and pretent everything is good on earth, and only going to get better.

Climate Just One Aspect of Major Global Crisis

IcebergThere is a major global crisis enfolding and the climate issue is just one aspect of it - since experts don't have a solution - they're trying to keep a lid on things:

From the Washington Post's Debate on Climate Shifts to Issue of Irreparable Change:

More recently, NASA officials tried to discourage a reporter from interviewing Hansen for this article and later insisted he could speak on the record only if an agency spokeswoman listened in on the conversation.

"They're trying to control what's getting out to the public," Hansen said, adding that many of his colleagues are afraid to talk about the issue. "They're not willing to say much, because they've been pressured and they're afraid they'll get into trouble."

The only expert that can save the day is foremost Kabbalist and Scientist Rav Michael Laitman, whose important message is finally getting the world stage it deserves - here is another excerpt of his presentation in Arosa last weekend where he is talking about the easy way and hard way to go about correcting our inflated egos:

All of nature’s forces except for human ego are in balance. All of them form a single system of nature’s forces and only man disturbs their harmony. Everything in nature is interconnected and aspires to equilibrium within itself and with the surrounding reality. The violation of similarity leads to the violation of equilibrium, beyond the limits of which, the organism starts disintegrating. The possibility of restoring equilibrium is the condition of life.

How does humanity realize the need to become similar to nature? How can egoists arrive at the realization of evil? They will come to it from hopelessness and from the realization of egoism as evil!

One can advance towards the realization of evil by choosing the path of suffering or the short path of correction. However, the path of suffering is not a path; this is just an amount of time that is needed for the realization of all the horrible consequences of one’s stubbornness and egoism. Yet, as soon as a sufficient amount of suffering has been accumulated, a person makes a calculation and decides that there is a greater profit in correction than in suffering, and makes an effort to become similar to nature.

Nevertheless, one can choose a short and easy path of correction: if a person receives knowledge about the world’s structure, causality, and purpose, he accelerates his realization of evil (his opposition to the world) and does not need to realize egoism as evil under the influence of sufferings.

Therefore, we have to accelerate the process of realization of egoism as evil in the whole world by disseminating knowledge about the crisis and its cause – our opposition to nature.

Al Gore on Saving The Planet

Gore Am I dreaming or is former Vice President Al Gore wearing a Kippa in this picture in the Washington Post?

Gore is attracting a lot of attention to a very real problem by saying that we may only have 10 years left to live on this planet.

In Rav Laitman's words - the answer to global warming and all other aspects of the global crisis lies in uniting and elevating all the altruistic elements in the world to a higher place:

"Since the activity of the world’s altruistic forces will be leading the world towards equilibrium with nature, it will receive natural support in the form of reduction of all manifestations of the crisis. Nature reacts sensitively to altruistic changes within man, because they make man increasingly similar to it. This increasing similarity to nature will lead to the transformation of the surrounding nature and society."

A Challenge To Mankind

Nature6_1Just when I thought it was going to be a boring news day I came across A Challenge To Evolution where scientists seem to be grappling with some unknown substance called 'dark energy'.

While all the top scientists admit they are guessing about these matters, foremost Kabbalist and Scientist Michael Laitman who is meeting with many of the top scientists in the world on a regular basis, has the answers to this and all the other problems we are currently facing.  The following is a pretty long excerpt - you can see the full article here.

... We are destroying nature. Such ecological catastrophes are occurring whereby we do not know what will happen in a month. We are not talking about hurricanes and tsunamis, but about the annihilation of humanity by way of natural cataclysms. Whether it is due to cooling or heating - it is uncertain exactly how - but the scientists’ are foretelling horrible and frightening natural events in the coming future. The problem is not that this may happen sometime in the distant future. After all, it is unquestionable that man’s existence on Earth will somehow come to an end, since everything evolves. However, we are talking about a few short years or even months; no one knows what will happen and when.

The changes that the Gulf Stream Current is undergoing may lead to the freezing of all of Europe, and the volcanic eruptions expected to take place mainly within the world ocean can lead to consequences much more destructive than if they occur somewhere in Africa or the Himalayas, since what happens in the ocean will threaten of alteration of the earth’s core.

In short, we are in states that have never before been equaled. It is becoming more and more clear that the whole world is a small village, and that we influence one another, not only by the fact that we have arrived at a universal economy or global terror; moreover, we literally depend on each other in all our production, in the distribution of activities, in the acquisition of oil, energy, and so on.

This connection is so crucially all-encompassing, that any change in any point in the world may immediately cause a great shock throughout the whole world. How can we protect ourselves from all these small shocks, in order to avoid causing a universal reaction? This is unclear to us. In addition, we do not know what exerts an influence on what, and according to what formula everyone in the world is connected with each other. However, the fact that we are all connected is obvious.

                                            *   *   *   *   *   *

And the last factor that is added to all these disappointments in man’s activity on Earth over the course of thousands of years, is the crisis in science. Humanity has always believed in science. This was a field that did not relate to man: we reveal the world, and the more we will reveal, the more we will be able to use it correctly in order to benefit ourselves.

In the past, science belonged only to special individuals and closed societies. All its fundamental discoveries, such as the way to produce a mirror, gunpowder or paper, were kept secret. The laws of mathematics and medicine were very important for humanity, but they were protected for thousands of years. In addition, science and religion were always in competition, and were never able to get along with each other. We always thought that we will come to goodness, specifically with the help of science.

However, as Baal HaSulam wrote, from the moment scientists began to sell science for money, that is, to accept anyone as a student, this action opened science’s door to everyone. Science went out to the masses, and every person began to use it with his own goals: some people used it to become richer, others—to acquire power and status, others—for military goals, and so on.

Science then ceased to help man in his life, and it transformed into an evil for him. However, did it ever really help man in his life? Take biology for example. This is where we invent poisons! Even in medicine, we see that the more we understand man’s body, the more distanced we become from health. This means that progress, including scientific progress, is not an index showing that we are moving toward a good life with its help.

In essence, this crisis is a part of the totality, together with all the other problems, which humanity is discovering in all forms of its activity. However, there exists one more problem in science: we are approaching its end. Over the last fifty years, we see the degree to which progress cannot further advance. It is just the opposite: by delving deeper into that which has been unknown until now, we discover the degree to which we really do not know this.

For example, as we reveal more of the universe, we suddenly discover that we have attained only two to three per cent of its visible structure, such as great collections of gases and various bodies. However, beside this, it contains an energy we do not understand or know. There exists disappearing matter that we are unable to attain. That is, with each discovery, we reveal more and more just how little we orient ourselves in this world.

You can read about the solution in the full article which as usual involves suffering this way until the universe finally compels us to resolve the question: What is the meaning of our life?”

Our Escalating Egoism - Part I

EgoThere are signs all around us of our escalating egoism.  Who cares you may be asking?  We should all care because the fact that we are out of sync with nature is the cause for all the chaos in our lives today in the form of terror, global warming, war, escalating (celebrity) crime, etc.

So if you don't know what I'm talking about here are some examples showing very clearly how much this generation's egoism (or 'will to receive' as we say in kabbalah) has gotten way out of control. It's not necessarily a bad thing - it just shows how our basic traits are becoming more pronounced and amplified with every passing minute - and that is totally opposite to nature that is perfectly balanced and harmonious.

Sign #1: $100,000 and up Bar-Mitzvah's.  Obviously one of the biggest signs of our worshipping of materialistic values would have to be from North America with a special focus on 'the Tribe'.  But these guys have been outdone - about a year ago I was invited to a Bar Mitzva at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem (where US presidents stay when they come here) with 300 guests flown in from New York to participate.

Sign #2: ABC's Surviving Holiday Break Ups.  Why should we settle when there may be something better around the corner?  Like Rav Laitman said at the Vienna Congress this weekend - there is no such thing as a perfect relationship and never will be till the end of correction.  We're going to keep coming back to this world and being in unfulfilling relationships until we get down to the nitty gritty  work of transforming our nature.

Sign #3: This Tookie affair - why should someone who murdered 4 people not have to take his punishment?  Anyone who thinks he should get off is under the illusion that this person has changed but we don't ever really change - our original "programming" just gains more experience with each passing year.  So even though we may appear to be better or nicer people it's just because "the program" has figured out a better way for implementing our desires. The crime itself captured everyone's attention and that is exactly what he has continued doing for the last 25 years because that is his basic nature.

Of course this list could go on and on but I will stop here for now.
